Anxiety is a nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks. The different types of anxiety are generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder and separation anxiety. Anxiety disorders increase one’s chances for suffering from other medical illness, such as cardiovascular disorders, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes. More specifically, increased body weight and abdominal fat, high blood pressure, and greater levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose have all been linked to anxiety. -Anxiety.org
