Hello, I am Nancy Bloom, M.A., CHT. Working as a Counselor, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Energy Healer, I assist people in overcoming their PTSD. This interview sheds light on PTSD.
We hear a clear yet hopeful perspective from Diane Powell, a Psychiatrist who has worked extensively with people facing many kinds of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,
from survivors of genocide, to those with combat trauma, to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as those who have sustained childhood trauma.
She underscores how important it is to get treatment, sooner, rather than later. And she makes it clear that PTSD is not a life sentence, and she speaks of amazing healings she has seen from the most intense kinds of trauma.
She says we cannot change the past, but we can reach for quality of life going forward. She weaves some of the recent research on PTSD into this conversation.
And she advocates for training communities to better welcome, assist and incorporate those members of the community returning from combat, or suffering from other kinds of PTSD.
