The Extraordinarily Ordinary – S01E12 – Post Traumatic Stress: Violent Crime Survivors

Dee Edwards is a mental health practitioner based in North Wales. She has worked with violent crime survivors, specifically families of murder victims for 27 years.

Dee helps violent crime survivors:
– Get the help they need for physical and mental health
– Change the laws by working with lawmakers and government officials
– Get their lives back on track while dealing with grief and trauma
– Raise awareness on the importance of trauma care by organizing walks, gatherings and events

Surviving a violent crime definitely has a big impact on someone’s life. The grief is permanent. The trauma is numbing.

Join Dee and I as we discuss on how violent murders affect the lives of those left behind. Her experience in helping violent crime survivors brought a new perspective on how we perceive trauma.
