This is a clip from an EMDR Mini Training for Mental Health Professionals from an EMDRIA approved training provider. EMDR is used in treating trauma.
The Basics of EMDR Therapy will focus on the foundational elements involved in Francine Shapiro’s 8-Phase Protocol: history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and re-evaluation.
Beginning with a symptom-focused approach to case conceptualization and treatment planning, special attention will be given to attachment organization, the Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality, bilateral stimulation, and the 3-Pronged Approach to target sequencing of traumatic memories and current and/or future triggers.
The objective of this presentation is to give participants a basic theoretical and methodological understanding of how EMDR Therapy benefits clients from a variety of attachment orientations and trauma histories.
