Details of Linda Lusardi's horrific coronavirus battle that left her with PTSD

Linda Lusardi, 62, is one of the celebrities who will strip off tonight for the latest series of The Real Full Monty on Ice.  The show aims to highlight the importance of women checking their breasts for cancer symptoms.  Linda had a cancer scare in 2016, but also had a different health scare earlier in this year when she tested positive for coronavirus.  The Page 3 legend was hospitalised with Covid, needed oxygen and was attached to a drip during the horrific ordeal.  Her husband Sam Kane confirmed she was “at death’s door”.  Sam, 51, was also hospitalised with Covid-19, and has been suffering the after-effects of the virus, including heart palpitations.  Now she has bounced back to good health in order to take part in the charity show.  But it’s not been an easy road for the model and actress, who is still experiencing the after-effects of the virus.  She said of her coronavirus battle: “There were some very dark moments where I didn’t think I was going to make it.”  Linda was in hospital for 10 days, and said she had chest pain, fever, was vomiting and said at times we hoped she wouldn’t wake up.  The actress revealed that her children were left traumatised by the prospect of losing their parents.  She said: “The mental trauma of it has touched us all even though it was me who was sick. My children had to deal with the fact they might lose both of us and then me, and the mental effect it’s had on us has been very traumatic really.”  Linda told The Sun: “I think we’re still suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder a little bit.”  She added in August: “I’ve had some hair loss which has been a bit distressing. I still haven’t got the energy I had before although I’m getting there. Every week’s a bit better.”  The former glamour model has said that the near-death experience has made her reevaluate things.  She said: “It’s made me value my life a lot more and when I first came out I was just elated to just be alive. I felt so responsible for my children… Just the thought that they may not have had us anymore was terrifying.”   The Real Full Monty on Ice airs tonight on ITV at 9pm.
